VW pays 4.1 billion euros in comparison with American Justice:
End of a scandal: Volkswagen can close another major site in the exhaust gas industry. The investigation, however, is still under way, according to America's Justice Minister.
The US Department of Justice has agreed in diesel scandal on penalties over 4.3 billion dollars (4.1 billion euros). The ministry confirmed this on Wednesday in Washington.
In addition, criminal complaints against six VW managers were announced.With a guilty confession, VW also grants criminal misconduct. The Group was accused of fraud and violations of the Air Pollution Act.

"Today's actions reflect the unswerving commitment to defend consumers, protect the environment and the financial system," said Loretta Lynch, American Justice Minister. "Responsible persons and companies are held accountable for the offences of corporations." The investigations are not yet finished.
VW pays in detail for the comparison 2.8 billion dollars to settle criminal investigations because of manipulations of exhaust gas values of numerous diesel cars. In addition, further civil-law fines of 1.5 billion dollars are due.
In the case of hundreds of American civil complaints from customers, car dealers and authorities, VW had already agreed on comparisons that could cost over 17 billion dollars. In September 2015, the Group had acknowledged the falsification of hundreds of thousands of diesel cars in the United States.
